The Mission

Every great soldier was once a recruit who learned the discipline to show up without being told. The Dare Cadet Academy exists to train the next generation of Dare men — capable, reliable, and proud.

You do not need to be told twice. You do not need to be chased. You learn, you perform, you advance.

CADET	⬜ White	5 days of all duties completed — no prompts
PRIVATE	🟩 Green	2 weeks consistent + never missing morning inspection
CORPORAL	🟦 Blue	1 month consistent + helping a brother with their duties
SERGEANT	🟥 Red	2 months consistent + zero prompts + leads by example
LIEUTENANT	⬜ Silver	3 months sustained excellence
CAPTAIN	🟨 Gold	Sustained excellence + nominated by the Commandant

Ranks are earned, not given on time alone
Any rank can be HELD (frozen — no advancement) for a week of poor performance. Resets after 3 perfect days.
Only one Captain at a time

🎁 Rank Privileges — Your Individual Weekend Freedoms

How it works: Each boy earns his own privileges based on his rank. They are personal — not shared. They apply Friday night through Sunday only. A Recruit earns nothing extra. Rank up to earn more.

The Senior Choice: The highest-ranking brother each weekend picks one family choice — Friday night movie, Sunday dinner, or Sunday activity. Tie = rock-paper-scissors.

CORPORAL	1× screen session Sat + Sun (1 hr each) · Sleep in Sunday · Choose 1 weekend meal
SERGEANT	2× screen sessions per day weekends · Sleep in Sunday · Choose 1 weekend meal · Monthly Commander's Day Out (1:1 with Mum or Dad)
LIEUTENANT	Full weekend screen freedom (within family rules) · Sleep in Sunday · Choose 1 weekend meal · One friend over on a weekend day · Monthly Commander's Day Out
CAPTAIN	All Lieutenant freedoms + Golden Key — one day off school per month, no questions asked

📺 Screen & TV Rules

No TV or personal devices Monday–Thursday. No exceptions.
Weekend screen time is earned through rank. See privileges above. A Recruit earns nothing. Rank up to earn more.

Complete in order. All done before anyone leaves the house.

🏠 Afternoon Stand-Down — After School

Nothing else happens until daily duties are done. No screens. No neighbours. No exceptions.

☀️ Sunday Morning Parade

Before any free time or activity on Sunday morning, report to the Commandant with all three items. Parade is not optional.

Free time does not begin until the Commandant has reviewed and dismissed you.

📊 Daily Performance Record

Rating	Meaning
✅ COMMENDATION	All duties done, no prompts, great attitude
⚠️ STANDARD	Duties done, some prompting needed
❌ INFRACTION	Duties missed, bad attitude, or required multiple prompts

5 consecutive COMMENDATIONS = progress toward next rank · 3 consecutive INFRACTIONs = rank HELD

🎖️ Special Commendations

Act of Brotherhood — Helping a sibling without being asked
Initiative Award — Doing something useful that wasn't on the list
Honour Commendation — Telling the truth when it would have been easier not to
Service Medal — Doing something kind for someone outside the family
Rugby Medal 🏉 — Outstanding sportsmanship or exceptional execution at rugby (awarded by the Commandant on game days)

Three special commendations in a month = one extra week of consistency toward next rank.

🏠 Barracks Rules — At All Times

These are not scheduled duties. They are the minimum standard of a Dare man, always and without prompting.

Dirty clothes	Go straight into the laundry basket — not the floor, not a chair, not the bathroom
School shoes & bag	Go in your locker — every time, as soon as you walk in
Wet towels	Hung up immediately after use — not left on the floor or bed
Toilet	If you make a mess — seat, floor, anywhere — you wipe it up and flush. No exceptions. No waiting for someone else to find it.

Barracks infractions count the same as any other infraction. A Dare man cleans up after himself.

⚠️ The Honour Code

A Dare Cadet does not lie.

A Dare Cadet does not make excuses.

A Dare Cadet does not blame a brother.

A Dare Cadet finishes what they start.

A Dare Cadet asks for help before they give up.

Breaking the Honour Code is the only offence that can cause rank demotion (one level).

📣 Commandant's Standing Orders

The schedule is not negotiable — it is the minimum standard
"I forgot" is not a reason — it is a choice. Rank reflects choices.
Brothers support each other. This is not a competition — it is a corps.
Attitude counts as much as output. A bad attitude on a completed task is still an infraction.
The Commandant's word is final. Appeal: "Permission to speak, Commandant."

As of today, you hold the rank of RECRUIT. This is not a small thing. Every great soldier, every great leader, every great man — started exactly where you are standing right now.

What you do next is entirely up to you.

Your Mission

The Dare Cadet Academy exists to train you to become the kind of man who does not need to be told what to do — because he already knows, and he already does it.

You will learn to make your bed without being reminded.
You will learn to prepare without being chased.
You will learn to practise your skills with discipline and pride.
You will learn to show up for your brothers.

These are not rules. They are the habits of men who matter.

Your Path

Your rank today is RECRUIT. Your first mission: earn CADET within 5 days.

Complete every morning duty and every afternoon duty — without being asked, without being reminded, without complaint — for five days in a row. That's it. That's all it takes.

After that, the path to CAPTAIN is open to you. It will not be fast. It will not be easy. That is the point. Every rank you earn unlocks new freedoms — personal to you, earned by you.

Your Cadet Field Manual has everything: your daily duties, the rank structure, your privileges at each level. Read it. Know it. Live it.

Your Honour Code

A Word from the Commandant

I have watched you your whole life. I know what you are made of. I know how capable you are when you decide to be.

The Academy is not punishment. It is an invitation to become the version of yourself that I already know you can be.

Every great routine starts with one decision: I will do this because I have decided to — not because I have to.

That decision is yours.

I am proud of you already. I cannot wait to watch you earn those ranks.
